Heidevolk and Alestorm announced for Burgfolk 2013

The last two bands for Burgfolk 2013 are also confirmed: Heidevolk and Alestorm. 16 and 17 August 2013 there will be another edition of the wonderful German Burgfolk festival. Tanzwut, Eric Fish & Friends, Faun, Fejd, Soar Patrol, Ally the Fiddle, The Sandsacks, Zweilicht and Heimataerde were confirmed already.

Hörnerfest 2012

By: Nick en Colin This year Folk-metal.nl traveled back to the ‘well known’ Brande-Hörnerkirchen for one of the nicest festivals of the year. Hörnerfest is a small festival in northern Germany, with just 2000 visitors. The festival is mainly about all styles of folk and folk-metal, so perfect for us! With the festival in one’s backyard, meat for reasonable prices, and a shishatent it promised to be a nice weekend. Below the report of all the bands we’ve seen during this weekend.

Saltatio Mortis Sturm aufs Paradies Tour

Saltatio Mortis Effenaar, Einhoven 24 November 2011 Door: Nick Donderdagavond, 24 November, was de dag dat Saltatio Mortis zou optreden in de Effenaar. Met een voorprogramma als Fejd beloofde het een mooie avond te worden. Hoewel het niet erg druk was de gehele avond, zat de sfeer er goed in en werden er twee prachtige optredens weggezet. Fejd Fejd was de band die deze avond af mocht trappen. Doordat de treinen deze avond niet meezaten, moesten we helaas het begin van deze Zweedse band missen. Fejd – Eifur (2011)

Door: Michel Score: 4/5 Lekker, weer een nieuw album van de Zweden die met de EP “Eld” en het full length album Storm zo’n waanzinnige indruk maakten. Hoewel de band niet teleurstelt, is het album toch niet zo sterk als de beide voorgangers. Het over het geheel een sterk album. Fejd komt met hun muziek veel dichter bij de traditionele Zweedse folkmuziek als wij van veel bands gewent zijn. Dit is dan ook in alle nummers weer goed te horen, waarbij “Aring”, “Arv” en “Yggdrasil” bijvoorbeeld ook weer absolute meezingers zijn, ware het niet dat mij Zweeds zo slecht is. … lees verder

Burgfolk 2010 Locatie: Schloss Broich, Mülheim an der Ruhr (DE) 27 Augustus 2010 Door: Michel Foto’s: Feenstaub Entertainment Burgfolk in Mulheim staat garant voor een leuk feestje. De rode draad in de programmering is folkinvloeden maar dan in een brede zin. Het festival begon dit jaar met het erg leuke Versengold, die echte middeleeuwse volksmuziek spelen, gevolgd door Elane (kort door de bocht: gothic zonder ballen). Daarna was Bleeding hearts met behoorlijk aanstekelijke muziek in de geest van Green day, maar dan met viool. Fejd Hierna kwam mijn eerste hele goede reden om naar dit festival te gaan: Fejd.
