The second album of Ignis fatuu. Would the band with “Neue Ufer” go in a different direction, where the band surprised us pleasantly with their debut album “Es werde Licht”?
And they immediately open strong there, with a nice tune, but direct in this issue is coming forward…
Where the first CD was still delicious raw here and there “Neue Ufer” is sometimes a little too polished. Although it does not sound all bad, the raw edges are a bit buffed.
Unfortunately I have described the whole album pretty much with this in a little more then one sentence. Only the song “Stille Wasser” still deserves a special mention, a beautiful delicate, yet with strong accents.
A nice CD, but personally I prefer to slightly firmer work of “Es werde Licht”.
