Theudho – ‘War into the World’ (EP 2011)
Rating: 5/10
Release: 12 October 2011
Label: Aurora Australis Records
While waiting for the new CD ‘When Ice Crowns the Earth’ from the Belgium band Theudho, they asked us if we could review the previous EP, released in October 2010. 4 songs, with a total length of 20 minutes.
This EP presents a kind of folk-metal which lies close to death-metal which is made by bands like Amon Amarth or Unleashed. With some thrashinfluences integrated, you have the sound of theudho. There isn’t much to say about the EP itself. The band excels in playing their instruments, and the songs itself are descent. However, the band doesn’t produce anything special. When listening, there is not one riff that is catchy enough to be remembered for more than a few seconds. Also, all the songs sounds like it has be done before.
Conclusion is that this EP is negligible. Nothing special, nothing spectacular, easy to forget! Though we can still hope that their upcoming release will be better.
