With the Elf Fantasy Fair you’ve have a guarantee for good music for quite a while. A couple of years ago there was less musical entertainments, but this has become better over the years and we got bands like Tanzwut the last years. This year there were quite a few bands again of which Ignis Fatuu was the only one with quite a reputation.
The show of Ignis Fatuu was, in short, not very smooth. They started a half hour late and with a very band sound. The flute couldn’t be heard always and the guitar wasn’t loud enough. Which wasn’t so bad after all, in this way they could hide this ‘out of tune’ device a bit. The guitarists and the singers failed big time at some points.
Despite of this Ignis Fatuu kept on trying to entertain their audience, which succeeded quite well. The was quite some interaction and some ‘fanatics’started to dance in front of the stage. But the contact wasn’t as good as it could be, because the band was in the back of the stage all the time, leaving a lot of space unused.
I can be positive about the songs the band played. A lot of diversity with slower and faster songs, as well as a nice mix of songs of the first and the second album.
A conclusion with two sides. The band played well and enthusiastic, but this can’t make up the fact the guitars were false and the sound wasn’t nice. Not a very good performance by this band, I have seen them much better.
