MuyzKuBBuN – Promo Album (2012)
Rating: 4/10

To promote themselves, the Colombian band MuyzKuBBuN released a Promo EP, which can be listened to on their facebook page.
The first track of this EP is ‘The Mallet shows its Honour’, it starts of with a very happy tune, I’m still wondering if the sound of it really makes me happy. But I have to say it has a nice contrast with their grim metal-vocals. The vocals sound a bit like bands as Waylander. You’ll will immediately notice this is not a European band, but the other influences are very subtle. This gives them a sound of their own and by that a place in a crowded folk-metalworld, with more and more bands with the same style.
In the song ‘In the Name of our Gods’ again this typical combination of vocals and keyboards. But the keyboards are somewhat more submissive and there’s a nice guitar every now and then popping through. Very nice choir in this one too.
‘Land of Eldorade’ starts with a guitar-intro, to explode after about one and a half minute and go on in the way we were used to by MuyzKuBBuN. And despite of the fact this know all kind of transitions, it can’t grab me really. The vocals are not very natural and the effects are overdone. There’s also one piece of vocals of a very questionable quality. This track is not ready yet, it has the potential to become a nice track, but it needs a lot of work to get there. It shouldn’t be on this EP, then this album would me much nicer.
