Izmoroz – ‘Zaebis!’ (EP 2013)
Rating: 6/10
Release: 30 April 2013
Label: Independent
Well, in our review on the previous album Folk-metal.nl mentioned it became less interesting when the folk got out of the album. Now Izmoroz has an EP out, we wonder in which direction the band would develop.
Zaebis! Again a fast track as we’re used to by this band. Sounds rather nice, but there’s no folk in this one!
The next one, Underwater queen, starts with keys in which some folk-tunes can be heard if you want to. It’s loud it’s catchy, but there isn’t a lot of folk, only the keys have a kind of folksound.
In the third track there are some bagpipe-sounds in the Круиз cover Spinning top. But it’s still not very folky.
In Motorpenis, a cover of Impaled Nazare, there are some more bagpipe sounds which give this track a nice folk-metal taste.
We can stick with the review of the previous album, again this one isn’t very interesting. It’s not bad at all, it’s still not very special. The only song which has more potential is the cover Motorpenis.
