Skiltron + Rhovanion @ Little Devil
After two extreme hot days, it finally cooled down a bit on the Wednesday-night that Skiltron was about to set foot on stage of the Little Devil for their first European tour ever. With Rhovanion as their support it promised to be a great evening.
Rhovanion
Exactly at half past 8, Rhovanion started playing with their catchy folk-metal. While it was a little tight on stage, with 7 people, the band played with a lot of conviction. The sound was excellent, which could be called a small miracle with the numerous different instruments this band uses. BThe stage-performance was a bit static, but they obviously enjoyed playing. The energy of the band transferred to the audience, which resulted in numerous headbangers, and even the first pit, started by the violinplayer who jumped into the audience. It was a bit of a shame that he forget to plug in his violin thereafter, which resulted in a hilarious moment of silence on a beautiful, calm pace where his violin would’ve played a main role. All in all a great show from these Dutch ladies and gentlemen!

Skiltron
The First time in Europe for these Argentinians, so the expectations were high. I can only say that they didn’t match up to this. The setlist was really good, with a nice mix between old and new songs. However, the stage-performance of the vocalist and the bagpipe-player were so bad that it became boring to watch. The songs, catchy power-metal completed with bagpipes, sounded too much alike to be interesting for the whole set. Just a shame, because the band is pretty good on CD. Hopefully the next time it’ll be better!
