Barbar’O’Rhum Toutes les Routes Mènent au Rhum 8.5/10 Toutes les Routes Mènent au Rhum (All roads lead to rum) is the debut album of the French-pirate-guys Barbar’O’Rhum. As the name suggest, they follow a pirate theme in the songs and also in the live stage. We can label as a folk rock or, as they say, Rock’n’Rhum. If they add more metal in their music will turn in Allestorm — as a title of comparison. The first song is the instrumental “Bienvenue à B’O’R”, followed by “Coeur de l’Océan”, one of the highlights. Others tracks featured are “Notre Terre”, “La Véritable Histoire du Capitaine Crochet” and “Dernière Bataille”. The record quality could be better, specially the guitars and drums. If you watch a live record in YouTube, for example, you will see that they are more exciting than the record transpires. But this is the first band steps and I’m sure that isn’t an easy task. I also suppose that the CD artwork doesn’t reflects the album spirit. This can make some difference.
