“I don’t know where their journey is leading them to, but if it develops in this direction, I’m with them.” My last words on the previous Remember Twilight EP ‘Reise in die Ungewissheit’ in 2012. Well I’m travelling every day through all corners of the louder folk music, but my journey with Remember was on hold for quite a time, but I’m glad they’re back. I won’t leave you in doubt any longer, they didn’t have a return ticket and continued their travel in the direction they took with their previous EP. The music stays quite solid compared with their older work, this feeling is enhanced by the nice raw rock-vocals by Timo.
Besides the nice vocals by Timo, the trademark of Remember Twilight are the violins by Anne and Anna and the cello by Chriz. Without doing the other short, they add the extras to Remember Twilight’s music.
With songtitles as Todestheologie and Antichrist, you won’t be surprised religion is an item in their lyrics. You can find the symbols of the five worldreligions on the back of their album-cover, because they question following religious institutions. The pentagram on the albums questions the visual clichés in the metal scene. Wow, they have a lot to tell only with the cover of the album, but this goes on in the lyrics of course. Questions on society, religion, afterlife and what we are doing on earth, this are all themes in their music. That’s quite a lot, but when you do this well, combined with good music, you’re allowed to try to let us think about things.
Remember Twilight has made a nice EP with ‘Fünf’ (Five), they are definitely into this style, nice and solid, with lots of cello and violin. Again they took a step and have grown further. Well, seems we are back on track and the journey continues. I can’t wait for the next station…
