Dämmerfarben was founded under the name “Schattenwindes Dämmerfarben” in the year 2005 by Nostarion as a solo-project.
In the year 2006 Nostarion recorded the bands first three track demo called “Des Herbstes Trauerhymnen”. After releasing the demo EP the name of the band was changed to Dämmerfarben and in April 2020 they will release the fully re-worked demo with additional songs as a full album and a running time of 51 minutes under the new name “Des Herbstes Trauerhymnen MMXX”. Since 2012 new musicians joined Dämmerfarben and a solo-project turned into a band. The translation of the title of this record into english would mean something like ” the autumn’s hymns of sorrow” and the release is presenting us a mix of atmospheric black metal/doom metal combined with some acoustic parts and full load of melancholy. The album contains of 5 songs with a running time between 8 to 13 minutes, which is showing that Dämmerfarben is talking their time with the presentation of each topic in the tracks. In the center of this release is standing the theme of the transformation of the nature and as well of the mood of menkind once authumn is going into winter. There are not a lot of folk influences beside the use of a violoncello. However it is to say that Dämmerfarben made a quite good job in catching the atmosphere of the changes in the monthes of authumn and every Atmospheric Black Metal fan, who likes a little bit of variation in the music in having slower doomy parts and acoustic parts will like this release.
