Hailing from France, this all girl punk/celtic band is a high energy group with a unique sound.This recording is only really 5 songs and 16 minutes long but the group packs a lot into that short time. Featuring two violin players the music is string forward and sounds almost gypsy one moment before shifting gears to Irish the next. Lyrics are interesting and each song is different. The Shamrocks Jig is high energy and stays fun throughout. The song Bestie life seems to sample Charlie Daniels throughout the song and is instantly familiar and foreign at the same time. The album ends on a more traditional sounding punk/celtic tune, Go Back again. This is a great effort and I’m looking forward to more from them. I would also like to point out the band created this as a sort of concept album revolving around leaving home to find your fortune. High marks for having a theme even for a short album. Great!!
