The Feelgood McClouds – ‘Saints & Sinners’ (EP 2021)
Rating: 8/10
Release: 12 March 2021
Label: Wolverine Records
The Feelgood McLouds are the very definition of Celtic Punk. They have a singer with a raspy heavy metal voice and the music chops to infuse their songs with great melodies guitar solos and punk crunch. This short album is a lot of fun and it has enough variety to be played in heavy rotation. Opener Dirty Bastards is a great punk song and makes great use of that banjo. Its meant to be played loud and shouted at the top of your lungs. The Tales of snotty nosed Sam is a rock and roll fable, and the Ballad of Sally and Sam is a nice slower tempo song. Saints and Sinners is another great Rock Punk track with great gang vocals and Cheerio wraps up the CD with a great little pub song. These six guys from Germany really bring it. They give their all in every song and I’m sure they would be great to see live. The music is in the same vein as The Dropkick Murphys and Flogging Molly and they can stand shoulder to shoulder with the big guys. In short the band should be in the collection of anyone who enjoys good Celtic Punk. The album is available direct from the band or through Wolverine records. Prost!
