Turkish Folk Metal band Kara Han, founded by Tunç Demirağ in 2016, released their 5th studio album “Kara Kam”.
The group, which deals with Turkish Culture and Mythology from the Huns to the present in their songs, did not break their line in this album.
Featured in the album, “Gardaş! Siz Hayırdır?” It is a song that focuses on the immigrant problem in Turkey.
“Atilla”, the introductory piece, is a candidate to be one of the songs that are sung together in concerts with its Turkish and Hungarian ending.
“Bas Bas Kılıcı”, written on the words of the famous Anatolian poet Köroğlu, is an interesting synthesis of the 9/8 rhythm structure with Heavy Metal.
Drawing attention to the Arabization in Turkey, “Tengri Biz Menen” can be called the only ballad in the album.
“Basubadelmevt”, which corresponds to the concept of Zombie in the Ottoman Empire, is one of the songs that stand out in the album with its humor specific to Kara Han.
“Kafirin Kellesi”, which will create quite a controversy with its name, is another outstanding song.
“Kara Kam”, which gave its name to the album, is the only instrumental song in the album. In the song, you can find a musical expression of the mystical journey of “Black Kam”, a special type of shaman in pre-Islamic Turks. It is possible to feel musical echoes with the song “Tengri Kelti” in At Avrat Metal album.
Video shoots were made and broadcast in Cappadocia with director Ali Karatekin for the songs “Gardaş Siz Hayırdır” and “Gökteki Türkler”.
Lyrical videos will be prepared for the other seven songs in the album and the entire album will be listened to on YouTube before the end of the year. The entire album can be listened to on any digital platform as of 16.11.22.
The staff of the group consists of Vocal/Guitar Tunç Demirağ, Bass Guitar Barış Dinçer, Guitar Samet Yıldız, Drum Tugay Engin.
You can listen to the songs from the new album live at the album launch to be held at Kadıköy The Wall Hall on 28 November 2022.
Kara Han revealed a video of ‘GÖKTEKİ TÜRKLER’.
