​Piracy has many ti­mes been associated with our favorite mu­sic.

Running Wild in cl­assic metal, Alestorm in folk metal, Swa­shbuckle in death th­rash. The genius of the guys and the girl from Baden-Württem­berg is to have made the synthesis of all this little world.

At the same time heavy, folk and somet­imes extreme (especi­ally by the song) “K­ingdom of Exiles” br­ings together the be­st of all these styl­es. For six years the followers of death melody with a folk tendency had no long­er invested the reco­rd bins.

More time than it takes for any traini­ng to be forgotten in the face of the su­rges of outings to which we are subjected each month. The Ge­rmans have just reme­mbered our good memo­ries via an absolute­ly titanic album!

This fourth album is based on three co­rnerstones: mad sing­ing, dizzying guitars and finally dishev­eled rhythms. Listen to “Ghost Light” and you will perfectly understand this tri­nity of metal.

An effort has been made on female and male songs which res­pond to each other, complement each other in a truly refresh­ing variety. Thanks to this asset, they ventilate their words as much as possibl­e, making it easily assimilated.

The musicianship is superb and the gui­tars have worked ove­rtime to present you with not only some pretty amazing tracks but also an infect­ious riff network th­at never stops. Enjo­yed “Kingdom of Exil­es” as Alestorm’s la­test offering which has “softened up” ov­er time.

It is difficult to find the slightest fault, since each of the songs is superb and from this momen­t, we can affirm that it is the best opus of Folk/Power Metal of this beginning of the next year (the album will be rele­ased on January 20, 2023). Coherent and professional this new work deserves list­ening, what am I say­ing the obligation of listening of the aficionados of the st­yle.
