Piracy has many times been associated with our favorite music.
Running Wild in classic metal, Alestorm in folk metal, Swashbuckle in death thrash. The genius of the guys and the girl from Baden-Württemberg is to have made the synthesis of all this little world.
At the same time heavy, folk and sometimes extreme (especially by the song) “Kingdom of Exiles” brings together the best of all these styles. For six years the followers of death melody with a folk tendency had no longer invested the record bins.
More time than it takes for any training to be forgotten in the face of the surges of outings to which we are subjected each month. The Germans have just remembered our good memories via an absolutely titanic album!
This fourth album is based on three cornerstones: mad singing, dizzying guitars and finally disheveled rhythms. Listen to “Ghost Light” and you will perfectly understand this trinity of metal.
An effort has been made on female and male songs which respond to each other, complement each other in a truly refreshing variety. Thanks to this asset, they ventilate their words as much as possible, making it easily assimilated.
The musicianship is superb and the guitars have worked overtime to present you with not only some pretty amazing tracks but also an infectious riff network that never stops. Enjoyed “Kingdom of Exiles” as Alestorm’s latest offering which has “softened up” over time.
It is difficult to find the slightest fault, since each of the songs is superb and from this moment, we can affirm that it is the best opus of Folk/Power Metal of this beginning of the next year (the album will be released on January 20, 2023). Coherent and professional this new work deserves listening, what am I saying the obligation of listening of the aficionados of the style.
