Vorgrum – ‘Nature Emerge’ (EP 2022)
Rating: 8/10
Release: 25 November 2022
Label: Independent
The four titles “Nature Emerge” follows two albums released respectively in 2015 and 2018. In Argentinian metal pagan we already knew Skiltron, Triddana, Tersivel, so to avoid being forgotten Folter the only member of Vorgrum offers an interlude which will keep fans waiting for the next album.
The melting pot of melodic black metal, very catchy instrumental parts gives the EP a particular imprint, a remarkable ardor and an omnipresent aggressiveness. The one a band unleashes a powerful winter storm, which will give credibility to the Argentinian Pagan Metal scene if necessary.
With his epic and varied vocals, Folter pulls a major ace up his sleeve, with which he outshines many “bards” from other bands. The structure of the songs is very intelligently worked thanks to skilfully chosen lyrics accompanied by mystical atmospheres.
In conclusion, I could say that this interlude is in the spirit of the beginnings of pagan metal. Of course big names like Firn, Munarheim or Heimdalls Wacht come to mind when listening to the recording. The clearest thing is that productions with such lyrical and emotional depth have sadly become a real rarity these days.
