The Australian pirates are back. Alestorm released an EP called “Voyage of The Dead Marauder“, released via Napalm Records. The EP comes as a successor to their epic seventh studio album, “Seventh Run of a Seventh Rum“, and consists of 5 songs in the typical Alestorm style, with pirate-ish melodies and lyrics.

The tracks that are in “Voyage of The Dead Marauder” demonstrate the great musical skills of the musicians in creating different atmospheres in the various tracks. Among the tracks there are a few that are a little bit more particular: the title track “Voyage of the Dead Marauder“, the title track, that is an accelerated anthem characterized by the appearance of Patty Gurdy, giving the track a little extra spice with a very cool performance and captivating voices; “The Last Saskatchewan Pirate” that will turn every meeting into a full pirate pub or tavern with its cheerful flute melody; “Cock“, the funny track,  that completely balances the most serious tracks of the EP with its vulgar (or cocky) lyrics. Very particular is also the instrumental “Sea Shanty 2” which serves as an instrumental interlude before the last track.

In this EP Alestorm prove themselves as capable musicians, able to entertain and entertain the public by telling stories of pirates with grogs, battles and parties in the taverns.
