Twisted Mist released ‘Gehenna’
Twisted Mist is a French Pagan Folk Metal band founded in 2014 in Reims. with Studio musicians Olivier and Nicolas.
With inspirations such as traditional medieval music like pieces by Guillaume de Machaud, modern bands from the Folk scene like Warduna, and metal music from Eluveitie, Corvus Corax and Sepultura, the band’s ambition is to fuse genres by infusing them with a signature sound.
A collection of traditional instruments, including the hurdy-gurdy, bombard, bouzouki, lyre, bone diatonic flute and medieval percussion, enables the passionate musicians to perform their pieces and give the recordings an authentic, hand-crafted sound.
In 2020, after two years of preparation, it’s the turn of the new album “Orbios”, the group’s most accomplished musical project, to see the light of day on the Music-Records label.
This is a decisive step for the band, who produce an album about our time on Earth and the notion of heritage.
When “Orbios” was released, the album was well received by the specialist press.
For 2022, Twisted Mist returns with the new album “Lacerare”, darker, more powerful and more aggressive.
“Lacerare” is a concept album, taking us on a journey and bearing witness to the Black Death sweeping across Europe.
Lacerare” was mixed and mastered by Track Down Music, the Music-Records recording studio.
Continuing the Twisted Mist tradition of combining Folk Metal, traditional music and Death Metal, the band presents its new album “Gehenna”.
Scheduled for release on October 25, 2024 on Music-Records, the new album is inspired by Dante Alighieri’s “The Divine Comedy”.
With this album, Twisted Mist asserts their musical direction and confirms their know-how.
Each song crosses every circle, every theme tackled by the Poet.
“Twisted Mist takes you on a journey… Dantesque!”
