Solarcycles released ‘Rythm of the Sun’
Dutch folk metal band Solarcycles is set to release their new single Rhythm of the Sun on May 2, 2025. The track will be available on all major streaming platforms and will be accompanied by a striking music video, filmed at an abandoned train station slowly being reclaimed by nature.
The band describes the new release as possibly their most aggressive work to date.was born during a deeply emotional period,” says vocalist Sascha van der Meer. “It was a time when I realized how long I had been erasing myself to meet the expectations of others – people who only accepted me as long as I gave up everything and remained as invisible as possible. This song is a reaction to that painful realization — full of wonder, frustration, and inner strength. Why did I allow it for so long? Why didn’t they really see me? ‘Rhythm of the Sun’ marks the moment I broke free and reconnected with my own life force, as part of nature and the universe.”
This track marks Solarcycles’ first collaboration with Joost van den Broek (known for his work with Epica, Powerwolf, and Ayreon), who provided creative input and was, along with Yarne Heylen, responsible for the mix and mastering.
Rhythm of the Sun follows Solarcycles’ 2023 debut album Lunar, which was named Best Folk Metal Album of the Year by Folk N Rock Magazine. The band blends symphonic metal, modern rock, and folk influences into an epic and compelling sound.
The release is supported by a series of live shows, including performances with Blackbriar in the Netherlands and appearances at several major festivals this summer.
Rhythm of the Sun will be available on Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, and other major platforms starting today.
