Bran Barr started in 1995. Their debut-album was released in 2000, a self-produced album. The music is a blend of metal with acoustic and folkloric pieces. The band uses bagpipe and other traditional instruments. The lyrics are based on a fantasy world in pre-Christian Celtic times.
After some changes in the line-up the band wasn’t active for a long time. After this there were a number of changes and a flute-player and violist joined the band. In 2010 the band is finally back with a second album.
