empyrium

Through all creations of Empyrium there’s a thread: love for nature, tragedy and romance. The combination of acoustic guitar and flute is used since the very first album. For ‘Where at night the wood grouse plays’ they used only acoustic instruments to let it sound as authentic as possible. This resulted in dark and idyllic songs, combined with the bombastic male choirs an unique sound. With the project “Weiland” the drums were re-integrated and there were some new instruments added like violin and mellotron. The album was totally dedicated to the mystic of nature, and divided in three chapters, Swamp, wood and water. With this album the members felt they had said it all and ended the project. In 2012 they picked up things again.
