Kara Han is a Turkish Folk Metal band founded in Istanbul in 2016. The band uses many tunes from Pagan Turkish culture to Ottoman. The band created their own sound by adding ethnic – Turk instruments such as dombira, ney, zurna, etc. to heavy metal sound and created their own unique style. Their first EP was published under the name of “Ottoman Slap- Osmanlı Tokadı” in May 2018.
As it can be understood from its name, the EP is focused on Ottoman music and especially Mehter (Ottoman Army Music).
