History of Russian band Rarog takes its roots in the mid-nineties. The name “Rarog” was chosen in the 2004. The album “Az’ Boga Vedau” was released two years later, in 2006. After this album a number of changes in the line-up hit the band. But this had a positive effect on their creativity. And they were working on another album soon.
The band has unusual influences form bands like ‘Dead can Dance’ and ‘King Crimson’, which gives their progressive pagan metal with folk influences a distinctive style of their own.
