The band Schattentantz was founded in 1999 in Wiesbaden, Germany. From the start the intention was to connect Medieval and modern elements in music. Besides the nowadays usual instruments the band uses medieval instruments like bagpipes, swalms and hurdy gurdy.
Another important element of their music are the choirs and clear a capella pieces. The band had a metal and an acoustic program.
