Yggdrasil was founded in 2001 and in the same year a demo was recorded. In 2003 the band went on hold for a while due to personal circumstances. But when the band was working on a new demo, they had to stop because a record-label was interested. In 2005 a first real album was released, but then it became silent for two years, Yggdrasil could only be heard on stage. After this the band found a more reliable label and releases another album in 2007.
The music can be described as nice melodic folk-metal, with low male vocals and clear female vocals.
