Zakon Velesa was formed in 2009 as folk pagan – black metal project of two friends who share same taste in music and ideology and beliefs. During that period there was only one song roughly recorded due to our other obligations. All lyrics are (and will be) written on their native language, as they we draw inspiration from Slavic mythology and culture. The band name could be translated as Law of Veles. Veles (also known as Volos) is the major Slavic god of earth, waters and the underworld, associated with dragons, magic, wealth and trickery. He is also the opponent of thunder-god Perun and the battle between two of them constitutes one of the most important myths of Slavic mythology. It should be noted that the band name was inspired by the release of serbian black metal band The Stone. To make playing live possible, they use a number of guestmusicians.
A demo was released in 2013.
