On the 12.10.2019 the Event – Management
Team of Volk Metal Jacket invited us to a headliner show of Alphayn with the
supports of underground sizes like Interregnum, Knaat and Dystersol. The show
took place in the holy halls of the Viper Room, one of the most established
Metal locations in Vienna and finally the doors opened at 19:00. To describe
the Viper Room in few words, it is offering two floors, while the concert hall
is located in the lower floor of the venue, offering you enough space for
around 250-300 people, space for offering merchandize, a nice bar and of course
a stage equipped with all light and tone technics you need.
On one warm Friday evening, I took off work
early and headed to the city not to simply escape the heat and indulge in the
delectable culinary offerings but to primarily see one of my favorite bands.
This particular trip was especially anxious with an interview confirmed with
headliners, Arkona, but more on that later.
From the moment I woke up on Saturday 24th August, the omens were good for the inaugural Månegarm Open Air festival, held in the headliner’s hometown of Norrtälje in Sweden and with a lineup featuring a veritable who’s who of Swedish Folk Metal. The sun was shining on an unseasonably warm day and …Continue reading →

By: Michel 19 – 21 July 2019 Lichtenvoorde, The Netherlands
When you like to spend you’re day with lots of fun, you have the chance every year again to visit the Zwarte Cross in the Netherlands. Three days of fun and entertainment and when you’ve managed to have a spot on the festival-camping you can even add the Thursday to that. This year The Rumjack are the band for us, but please don’t wait until you know next years line-up. The festival is very late with band-announcements and to be honest the line-up isn’t important at all. We have to point out, the Zwarte Cross isn’t a festival as we know it, but it’s an event with lots of things.
Pumpehauset, Copenhagen, Denmark31 May – 1 June 2019By: Assia What is a semi American metalhead to do for their first Scandinavian holiday but to attend a festival in one of the most eclectic cities in the world? Udgårdsfest 2019 seeks to prolong itself as a two-day festival celebrating Viking-pagan-folk-metal music …Continue reading →
By: Assia Date: 21 April 2019 DNA Lunge, San Fransisco, USA
Last month, I had the very honorable privilege to attend Kalmah’s first ever North American tour titled Heroes to us. Although this review is a bit overdue, it’s also right on time with their release of a live filmed ditty in Montreal. Joined by Vreid and Empyrean Throne, this proved to be one of the most fun shows I’ve been too. For starters, the DNA Lounge in SF is one of my favorite venues in the greater bay area. It is intimate, dual leveled with a full bar at each and a great sound to boot. It was a nice bonus to a highly anticipated event, not to mention great pizza from the same ownership next door.
20 January 2019 Metro Operahouse Oakland By: Assia Rating: 8.9 To be honest, I recently kinda fell out of love with Ensiferum. Perhaps to my detriment, because Two Paths just screams OG Ensiferum in many aspects once you really listen to it. The albums prior, which I shall not mention, …Continue reading →

24th November 2017, Irish Pub Home, Eibergen, The Netherlands By: Michel A Friday night, 200 kilometers from the sea, our home is looted by a bunch of American Pirates. You don’t want to miss that sight for sure. For a change I don’t have to drive for hours to visit …Continue reading →
