Wolfarian Interview

First of all thanks a lot for your time! Could you please be so kind and introduce yourselves to our readers and give us a little information about your bands history?
“Hello there! Thank you for having us. We are an eight-member pack from the biggest village in Czechia, Brno, combining symphonic and folk metal music since 2013. Strong male growl, soft feminine vocals, guitars, drums, keyboard, flute and violin are our weapons and stage is our battleground. It all comes in the wild and animalistic package on our gigs and melancholic, emotive and beautiful mood in our music.”

Aether Realm Interview

After reviewing their new album, Redneck Vikings from Hell, I reached out to Aether Realm for an interview. The guys from the band seemed very open to the idea, and we got some excellent meaningful answers in reply about the background of the album, how the pandemic affected the industry, and some of their self-referential songs.

Sojourner Interview

I am truly fulfilled when a band I have been following since early on makes it big. There is no better example of this than the epic Sojourner. On paper, you would think having members in multiple countries would never work but they have persevered and to great success. A signing to Napalm and a 3rd album out this year with “Premonitions” has made for a larger audience to finally hear what many of us already knew… a multi-faceted project that is ushering in a new era in symphonic metal with tangents into other genres. Two of the band member tackled some questions for us regarding the album, the signing, the process and some other things. Vocalist Emilio Crespo and guitarist Mike Lamb tooks turns at answering them and here is what they had to say… check it out…

Blodiga Skald Interview

Hi, it is nice to meet you. I am here with Blodiga Skald, an Italian Ork-Folk Metal band out of Rome with a Swedish name, lyrics in English and Russian language. A real nice combination. Can you please introduce yourself to our readers.
“Hi Juergen, nice to meet you! The band was founded 4 years ago, the Swedish name sounded cool to us and that’s why we choose it! About the lyrics, our singer (Axuruk) speaks Russian fluently, so it was easy for us to associate the Russian language to the orcish! The orcish concept and musical style, that is closer to death metal with orchestral and folk elements (thanks to the violin of Yindi and the keyboards of Tuyla), came out after the first rehearsals and, after one year, we left our first album “Ruhn”. We have been very satisfied with the result and we toured half of Europe to promote it. We have then spent the next two years between gigs and writing “The Undrunken Curse”, a very different album, but a 100% Blodiga one!”

Ease People with Kantele

Interview with Juha Jyrkäs

I recently said in my review that you have never heard anything like the debut album from Juha Jyrkäs. The author and musician issued ”Sydämeni Kuusipuulle” last year and the album has a very unique style and instrumentation going on in the use of the kantele as the primary folk and riff instrument. I threw some questions his way regarding his music, the kantele, playing live and a few other items of note……check it out…..

If you need an epic symphonic album to get you thru these dark days “Siberian Heathen Horde” from Welicoruss should be your go to listen. The latest album from the transplanted project from Russia to the Czech Republic is their 3rd full length and their first on their new label El Puerto. It also features many new and exciting twists and turns while retaining sounds more familiar to their existing fan base. Vocalist and composer Alexey Boganov took some time out of his busy schedule to field some questions for us regarding the new album, the artwork, the label and a few other questions… check it out…
