Manegarm revealed the running for for their Manegarm Open Air festival.
For those of you who have wondered what Fejd would sound like if they ever went heavier, your dreams have come true with the pending release of their 4th album “Trolldom” on May 27th. They have opted for some heavier music this time around while still incorporating their trademark folk stylings. Drummer extraordinaire Esko Salow answered some questions for us regarding the new album, the heavier direction and a few other items. Check it out!
“Probably our most important album”
Congratulations on the pending release of “Trolldom”…. have you been getting some reviews and feedback on it yet and, if so, what has been the response?
“Thanks, Yes, yours was the first and it was nice reading, now the reviews are starting to come and so far everything looks very good, only top results so far and we really hope it continues that way. “Trolldom” is probably our most important album up to date and we are excited to see how the response will be.”

The 24th edition of the biggest metal-festival in the world and of course we are joining in this year as well. Tuesday we travel towards the Mekka of Metal to stay one week in the holy lands of Wacken Open Air.
And once more, it’s going to be a good year with big names and a lot of folk-metal.
While the official start of Wacken was on Thursday, each year the party already starts on Wednesday with 3 or more folk-metalbands which will take care of the pre-party. Fejd, with their quirky mix of traditional folk and metal-elements, played as the first band, and immediately created a great atmosphere. While the bass was put way to hard in the mix, luckily the traditional instruments could be heard quite fine. With a setlist to dream about, with an ideal mix between old and new songs, and with Offerök and Yggdrasil, this band was a really fine start of the day!
Score: 8/10 (Colin)
By: Nick Score: 7/10 Release: 29-5-2013 Label: Napalm Records In my opinion is Fejd one of the few bands within the folk-metalgenre which still has an unique sound. A sound no other band ever copied, let alone excel. For people who haven’t heard of the Swedish Fejd before, and would … Continue reading →

Since they’re finishing up their new album, we thought it was time to gain some insight in Fejd. Folk-metal.nl interviewed drummer Esko Salow.Continue reading →
