By: Michel Rating: 8/10 Release: 8/7/2016 Label: Trollzorn Ignis Fatuu will release their new album ‘Meisterstich’ soon. This is something which always excites me, since I saw these Germans, many years ago at Burgfolk in 2011. By: NickScore: 7/10Release: 7-3-2014Label: Trollzorn Ignis Fatuu is in my top 3 list of worst live performances EVER. After terrible shows performed at several German metal festivals I was completely fed up with this band. There is, however, one ‘problem’; the albums of these Germans are always pretty good. And …Continue reading →
The 24th edition of the biggest metal-festival in the world and of course we are joining in this year as well. Tuesday we travel towards the Mekka of Metal to stay one week in the holy lands of Wacken Open Air.
And once more, it’s going to be a good year with big names and a lot of folk-metal.
While the official start of Wacken was on Thursday, each year the party already starts on Wednesday with 3 or more folk-metalbands which will take care of the pre-party. Fejd, with their quirky mix of traditional folk and metal-elements, played as the first band, and immediately created a great atmosphere. While the bass was put way to hard in the mix, luckily the traditional instruments could be heard quite fine. With a setlist to dream about, with an ideal mix between old and new songs, and with Offerök and Yggdrasil, this band was a really fine start of the day!

Changes of vocalist are always a bit risky, but they have to be made sometimes. A new …Continue reading →

By: Michel Score: 6/10 The second album of Ignis fatuu. Would the band with “Neue Ufer” go in a different direction, where the band surprised us pleasantly with their debut album “Es werde Licht”? And they immediately open strong there, with a nice tune, but direct in this issue is …Continue reading →
