Nemoreus – ‘Orcunadoras’ (2023)

Posted on 15 December 2023 by Michel15 December 2023

Rating: 8.5/10 Release: 8 December 2023Label: Independent Nemoreus is a six-member Austrian folk-metal band and Orcunadoras is their highly-anticipated second full-length album, originally released as four EPs. The band has a great sound: moody, atmospheric metal with folky additions of a flute, fiddle, and bouzouki. Fabian Zechmeister’s mostly-English vocals are … Continue reading →

Nemoreus ‘Orcunadoras – Chapter three: Rogue’ (EP 2023)

Posted on 9 November 2023 by Michel9 November 2023

Rating: 8.5/10 Release: 20 October 2023 Label: Running Wild Productions Nemoreus is a six-member Austrian folk-metal band who probably don’t even need this amount of introduction. I wrote reviews for chapters one and two, and I’d recommend going back and reading them first. So, two points make a line and … Continue reading →

Nemoreus – ‘Orcunadoras – Chapter two: Wanderer’ (2023)

Posted on 11 August 2023 by Michel16 August 2023

Rating: 8.5/10 Release: 4 August 2023 Label: Running Wild Productions Nemoreus is a six-member Austrian folk-metal band who probably don’t even need this amount of introduction. I wrote the review for Chapter One, and I’d recommend going back and reading it first. The folky, plaintive, flutey, minor-key metallic goodness continues … Continue reading →

Nemoreus – ‘Orcunadoras – Chapter one: Warrior’ (EP 2023)

Posted on 17 May 2023 by Michel17 May 2023

Rating: 8/10 Release: 5 May 2023 Label: Independent Nemoreus is a six-member Austrian folk-metal band who probably don’t even need this amount of introduction. “Eluna” and “Mountain High” are deservingly famous in their own right. Their new EP is lavishly titled “Orcunadoras, Chapter 1: Warrior”. It’s only three tracks, or … Continue reading →

Nemoreus Arnea

Rating: 8/10 Release: 5 March 2021 Label: Independent Without a doubt, when I think of Austria the first act that comes to mind is Summoning. With the release of their full-length debut “Arnea”, Nemoreus could be another one. Formed in 2017, this 6 piece from Vienna have put together 12 … Continue reading →

Interview with Nemoreus

Posted on 15 December 2019 by Michel11 November 2022

Introduction

Hi everybody, it is my pleasure to meet you! Would you please be so kind and introduce yourself to our readers?
“Hi, we are Nemoreus, a folk metal band from Vienna in Austria. We are 6 musicians combining heavy soundscapes with traditional folk instruments, such as violin, tin whistles and an Irish bouzouki. The current formation is active since 2018, but the roots of our band go back till 2012.”
What does the name “Nemoreus“ stand for? Is there any meaning behind this name? How was the name finding process and why did you choose this name
Fabian: “First of all the name finding process was really chaotic, since we needed to change our name twice until everyone was satisfied. Nemoreus is an old latin word, which roughly translates to “ belonging to the forest “.”
