It’s in Skjaldborg’s Blood

Posted on 21 February 2021 by Michel11 November 2022

One project that has been overlooked in my opinion is Germany’s Skjaldborg but in some regards it does make sense. The debut album (“Todgeweiht”) was released way back in 2014 and it has been quiet since then…. until now. “Krieg Liegt Mir Im Blut” was released in January and picks up where “Todgeweiht” left off with some new tangents while keeping to the original sound. Main member Virus answered some questions for us regarding the album, the writing process, the struggle to get the album completed and some other items of note….check it out….

My advice would be seek them out immediately and pick up their stunning debut Todgeweiht, one of the best (if not the best) Viking metal albums in my opinion to come out in 2013. To make it even more impressive, it is all the brain child of one man, the multi-talented Virus. I was able to contact him recently (in his first published interview!) to get everyone acquainted with Skjaldborg.

Skjaldborg Todgeweiht

Rating: 10/10 Release: 31 August 2013 Label: Independent If any of you know about Germany’s Skjaldborg, you may say “Why are you reviewing an album that has been out for over a year now?” Unfortunately, more of you are probably asking “Who is Skjaldborg?” It is understandable that you may … Continue reading →
